Felsökning GAIM Compact

Förhoppningsvis hittar du en lösning till de problem du upplever nedan. Om inte, tveka inte att höra av dig till oss.

There is no sound
  1. Ensure that the volume is turned up on the headset
  2. Check if there is sound in the Oculus Quest environment – if no sound please restart the whole headset
  3. If problem persists, please contact helpdesk@gaim.com

My voice command does not work
  1. Make sure your microphone is not on mute.
  2.  Go to Settings // Devices // Mute Microphone (Off)

Calibration seems wrong

  1. If the headset starts up from sleep mode – please quit the application and start again.
  2. Press and hold the Oculus button on the handcontroller to reset the standing position
  3. If calibration still feels off - exit the GAIM application and reset the guardian and floor level in the Oculus settings menu
  4. Check so that there is no direct sunlight or other IR emitting sources that disturbs the tracking of the headset
  5. Restart the headset

Weapon position is wrong

  1. Go to the weapon setting in GAIM OS and adjust the weapon. Please look through the tutorial video for details on how to do it.
  2. Check battery of the Oculus hand controller
  3. Check so that there is no direct sunlight or other IR emitting sources that disturbs the tracking of the headset
  4. Restart the headset

The GAIM Controller takes long to show in list of available Bluetooth devices
  1. The trigger unit is set to emit as low signal as possible when being discoverable why it can take longer than other devices to appear. The time it takes to appear is however more affected by the communication between the headset and the Oculus App, Wifi strength and distance between the trigger and the headset are more critical for the GAIM Controller to appear among available devices.

Do I need to pair the trigger via the Oculus app on my phone or can I do it in the headset?
  1. We recommend pairing via the Oculus app on your phone. While you might be able to pair in the headset directly and get it working we have noticed a bug in the Oculus software which causes issues such as the trigger not registering clicks, disconnecting in the middle of use and not being able to find each other at all.

How do I put the trigger into pairing mode?
  1. The trigger is in pairing mode when it blinks slow. About 1-2 blinks per second. To reach this, put in the battery and press the trigger for a long time. At first it might blink rapidly. After some time it stops blinking and after a long period of time the trigger should start blinking in a calmer and more steady pace than before. You can now release the trigger. Every time you take out the battery you will need to pair the trigger again.

The rifle trigger doesn’t respond

  1. If the trigger is not active when you start the system after not using it for a few days it can be that you need to awaken it. First enter GAIM and press the trigger a few times and wait for it to respond. If this doesn’t work you can go to the settings in the headset. To do this go to Settings // Experimental features // Bluetooth pairing and see if the trigger is connected there. If it is not. Reconnect it from there. Open GAIM and try the trigger.
  2. If this doesn’t work you might have to start over with the procedure from the beginning. Forget/disconnect any pairings in the headset menu for Bluetooth pairings. Remove the trigger from the rifle. Press the trigger for a long time. It will first blink rapidly, then stop. Keep pressing. It will start blinking slow after a while. This indicates it has deleted all previous pairings and is sending a Bluetooth signal to pair again. See the video of Bluetooth pairing on our Support page.
  3. If neither of these methods work, perform a factory reset on the headset (How do I factory reset my Oculus Quest 2 or Quest?) and then perform the first time setup of the system. Pair like you did the first time. Follow the Step-by-step installation guide on our Support page.

Headset goes black whilst playing

  1. Check if the headset needs charging
  2. Refer to the Oculus support for further assistance.
Why is my rifle lagging / jumping when I aim slowly?

  1. This is a problem related to Oculus. The Oculus hand controller have been programmed in a way that it doesn’t handle small precise movements and being held still. If the controller is held very still or with minimal movement, including slow lateral movement, it will stop tracking. It will happen the same way in the Oculus menu and other apps, but it's not often detected since it is an uncommon movement. We had some discussion about not including static shooting and long range shooting because of this. But we choose to include it. We hope it will be better if Oculus updates the controllers in the future.
  2. When shooting at a still target we recommend Aimpoints method of aiming. Place the red dot below your intended target, move it straight up and release your shot when it passes over your target. That way the lagging is minimized and at the same time you are practicing a correct way of manufacturing a hit on your target.
  3. Here is a video of the problem in the Oculus menu.

Blurry vision in headset

  1. Adjust the headset up and down on their face until their vision is focused. The headset has a “sweet spot” in the middle of the lens where the VR environment looks much sharper.
  2. Make sure the headset is firmly tightened on the face; your eyes need to be close to the lenses to receive a sharp vision.
  3. Clean the lenses, they easily get smudged.
  4. Adjust the IPD (interpupillary distance) in the headset. Average IPD for women is 61.7mm and 64.0mm for men.
  5. If problem persists - please refer to the Oculus support for support of your headset.
